Susana has been dedicated to developing lasting solutions to global health for almost thirty years. Her career spans research, academia, entrepreneurship, health policy and investment, across Europe, the US, Africa and the Caribbean.
Susana created the pioneering Healthcare and Life Sciences at UCL School of Management. Prior to that she conducted and published research in HIV immunology in Oxford, the MRC The Gambia and the NIH (Fort Detrick), and in a clinical trial for an HIV vaccine (Oxford).
She co-founded the Portuguese Social Business School, and is founder of two health initiatives (in 2011 she piloted an outbreak prevention system in Haiti).
She spent a decade working in health policy with the UN.
She is board member of a health impact investment fund and acts as investment advisor to the EU.
She holds a D.Phil in Clinical Medicine (Immunology) and a MBA (Skoll scholar), University of Oxford.
Susana was bestowed the Honour of Commander of the Order of Public Instruction by the President of Portugal.
